Road Trip: Amy in Prague

Road Trip: Amy in Prague Road Trip: Amy in Prague

We are a team of explorers and culture seekers. Our regular feature on our travels is back! This time, Amy popped cross to the Czech Republic for a few nights.

Prauge is like stepping into a storybook. The yellow, pink and blue houses that line the river are found in magnet form in almost every souvenir shop (and a yellow one has found a home on my fridge) but rightly so. They also make for some great Instagram pics! Prague is a walking city, from strolling across the famous Charles bridge (after my friend taking me across the wrong one and proudly proclaiming “this is Charles Bridge!” – it was not) to wandering around without a map and finding yourself in a little pink coffee shop eating cake and drinking a cappuccino – it’s a magical experience.

There are lots of things to do, we stumbled upon random art galleries (the words ‘Free Entry’ a welcome sight) and climbed up Petřín Hill which boasts amazing views of the city below. You can find all sorts of cuisine including the famous Chimney Cakes found in the streets of most European cities – very tasty yet diffiult to eat. We somehow always end up in an Italian, and having pasta on a boat on the Vltava River was a favourite foodie memory. If you’re headed to Prague, know that wherever you stay, you’ll have tram links or walking easily available and there really is no ‘bad parts’. I can’t wait to pop back for a weekend getaway sometime soon.
