Football fever is hotting up at one of Leeds’ most respected indies. Bundobust is inviting guests to watch all of England’s UEFA Euros 2024 matches in their Mill Hill restaurant. They have also developed a limited-edition specials menu taking inspiration from iconic football ground food, including a sure-to-be fan favourite, vindaloo pie, and finally, they are launching some brilliant football-inspired merchandise.

The limited-edition Vindaloo Pie, described as a ‘cheeky 1-2’ with Great Northern Pie Co, sees their famous buttery, flaky pastry encase a flavourful vegetable vindaloo served with mushy ragdha and desi gravy. Guests can also enjoy the Hot Bundog, a soy and mushroom masala hot dog with ‘Thumbs Up’ fried onions in a brioche bun, Gobi Wingers, crispy-fried cauliflower with garlic, ginger, chilli and curry leaf, and Mogo Panenka Chip, crispy cassava fries tossed in maple-chilli desi ketchup.

On the menu, customers will also be able to find Bundobust’s Rick Stein-approved Raghda Pethis; a fusion dish where mushy peas are spiced with garam masala, cooked until tender, and then layered with potato cakes, sev, tomato, onion, and topped off with Bundo’s tamarind chutney. The dish impressed Rick when it featured on the last series of BBC Rick Stein’s Food Stories which saw the renowned TV chef visit the Leeds location when he was exploring food culture in the UK.

Bundobust will be offering one of their secret menu hacks, where you can order the Pie Pav, nicknamed ‘The Fat Les’, after the classic ‘Vindaloo’ footy song singer. This dish is also known as a Wigan Kebab, and consists of a Vindaloo Pie in a bap with mushy peas to dip in.

Mayur Patel, Bundobust Co-Founder said “So many of the Bundo team are big football fans, from regular trips to both Elland Road and Valley Parade. We want to curate a really welcoming and accessible space to watch the Euros too, along with some great food and drink. There’s such a nostalgia for food at football grounds and we wanted to capture that with the nation’s love of pies and curry for the Euros. Enter the Vindaloo Pie. This curry is widely known as the hottest at most Indian restaurants, but ours is true to the traditional style; and the very untraditional style of having it in a pie butty!”

“The new specials are inspired by other classics like chips and hot dogs; usually a bland limited offering at a match, but bringing Bundo’s flavours to make this food you’d actually want to eat at the stands to our limited edition Euros specials, including a limited-edition beer to see it off with.”

It’s not all about food. Bundobust has been brewing up something special and is launching Shynee, a refreshingly light English-hopped Lager brewed at Bundobust Brewery in Manchester. What’s more, guests can order a three-litre tabletop beer tower, meaning you won’t have to choose between getting a round in and missing all of the action. Another limited-edition drink special is the Half Time Orange, a mix of tequila, triple sec and Aperol with a spiced orange chaser, made for mid or post-match cheers.

Bookings can be made for all England matches or any big games, plus the team is ready to turn the sound on for any game at request. Those who aren’t fussed by football, can still get the limited-edition food and drink items from Monday 10th June until 14th July.

As if this wasn’t enough, the restaurant has teamed up with the brilliant Northern Design Agency Acid FC to launch a short-run merchandise range. Acid FC recently teamed up with Leeds United and Adidas to design the 2023/24 kits, which were critically acclaimed. The range will feature the newly branded Sporting Club Bundobust items, including a football shirt, T-shirt, pin badges, and workers’ jacket.

Book your table for £5 (which includes your first pint of Bundobust beer, glass or wine or soft drink) – https://bundobust.com/euros/ with the first England matches of the Euros 2024 are Serbia vs England, at 20:00 on 16th June, Denmark vs England at 17:00 on 20th June, and England vs Slovenia from 20:00 on 25th June.
