Wonderland Awaits: LeedsBID Unveils Giant Cheshire Cat Artwork at Trinity Leeds

A GIANT Cheshire Cat grin has appeared on the iconic glass roof of Trinity Leeds — a purr-fect teaser for Wonderland Awaits, a magical new trail arriving in Leeds city centre from 26 July to 31 August 2025.
Presented by LeedsBID under its Welcome to Leeds brand — with media, content and social delivered by Chapter 81 — the experience invites families and visitors to explore seven immersive installations inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. From rooftop art to talking caterpillars, pop-up tea parties and larger-than-life creatures, it’s a five-week celebration of curiosity and creativity — and it’s completely free.
🎉 Just launched:
A huge 18m-wide Cheshire Cat artwork now brightens Trinity Leeds’ glass roof.
At Bridgewater Place, a cheeky animatronic cat (voiced by Tom Read Wilson) awaits discovery.
Highlights of the trail:
• Down the Rabbit Hole – Leeds Corn Exchange
• Drink Me, Eat Me – Victoria Quarter
• Advice from a Caterpillar – Merrion Centre
• Mad Hatter’s Tea Party – Victoria Gate
• Queen’s Croquet Ground – Aire Park (its first public event!)
• Jabberwocky – Royal Armouries
“From imagination to installation, this is one of the biggest and boldest trails Leeds has ever seen,” says Andrew Cooper, LeedsBID Chief Executive. “Wonderland Awaits is all about bringing joy, discovery, and creativity to the streets of Leeds.”
